When you see the suffix "-ing", by definition, it refers to " a process or an action". So, in this case, we can view this entire site as a story of an action or a process. That's the idea that came to mind as I wondered what I was going to name my site. I'm an avid YouTube learner and of course, I did not want to purport myself as a professional architect. I also did not want this site to be another "how to" tutorial driven site. After a while, that format causes one to loose touch with creativity and it becomes another scripted classroom,boredom inducing platform. As I have stated, I am not against the whole idea of online tutorials. I just know for myself, I did not want to base my site on that scenario.
So, this site is basically a living portfolio. Again, the suffix "-ing" comes into play here. If I could describe architecture, I would describe it as a process of processes. In other words, nothing is ever at a complete halt. There is always room to grow. That's why I decided to title the site "RISING ARCHITECT". As an architecture student who is learning the processes of this field, there is an ever growing need to continue learning and to continue to ask questions.
That is where the interviews come into play. As this documentary continues to develop, I will have interviews from various aspects of the field of architecture. This will range from architects themselves all the way to the general public. What will the questions be? Only time will tell.
So again, thank you for viewing my blog and I hope that you will be encouraged and inspired as i continue the developing of this documentary.
