Welcome to RISING ARCHITECT. My name is Amman J. Jordan. I am from Durham, NC. I worked full-time as a technician at DTW ARCHITECTS + PLANNERS for 11 years and 3 months. As of May 2026, I was impacted by a company restructuring, which has led me to continue exploring new opportunities in architecture.

Why did I make this website? I have had people tell me "Well, there are plenty of tutorial websites about architecture. So why make this?" To clear things up, this is not a website that thrives on giving tutorials on how to use BIM (specifically Revit), even though I am proficient in the software. This is not a rule-of-thumb website on how to succeed in architecture.

Instead, this is a developing documentary from the architecture student's point of view.  This is a website that is basically my living portfolio. 

​

I will feature time-lapse videos of projects I am currently working on, whether they be for work or school. I will feature interviews. These interviews will range from people working directly or indirectly in the field of architecture as well as users of spaces and how they feel about architecture.

This site is a developing documentary as I journey through school and work to become a licensed architect. Even after licensure, the learning process will continue.
